Özlem Koylu Alkan, Ph.D., is a professional in the field of energy and technology management with a specialization in strategic planning and research & development. Currently, she serves as a Technology Assessment Coordinator at the Ankara office of ASPILSAN Enerji Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., where Dr. Alkan is renowned for fostering innovation, aligning technology strategies with business objectives.
Dr. Alkan previously held the position of LIB Project Coordinator at ASPILSAN Enerji’s LIB facility in Kayseri, Türkiye. This facility is recognized as the first Lithium-ion battery production factory in the country. Dr. Alkan expertly managed the technical aspects of the project, including infrastructure and production layout, which culminated in stable production operations.
Her academic career is distinguished by research contributions made while at the University of Delaware and Bilkent University, focusing on high-energy permanent magnets and the medical applications of infrared laser fibers. She earned her B.S. and M.S. degrees from Bilkent University in Physics and Material Science, respectively. Her Ph.D. in Condensed Matter and Material Physics, with a focus on magnetic materials, was conferred by the University of Delaware, USA.
