How adhesives, sealants, encapsulants and TIMs improve safety, performance and reliability of battery systems
Description

“Space saving, modular, zero maintenance, safe and ergonomically pleasing” all marketing terms aimed at attracting battery consumers! But to deliver a battery system that has to work consistently, without fault, on demand  and for many years considerable attention needs to be applied to the key factors that contribute to making battery modules safe and ultra- reliable. Understanding how differing substrates and materials interact under varying conditions of temperature, humidity, stress and strain, how to address CTE mismatch, how to eliminate moisture permeation, how to provide long term sealing and what is the best technology to manage cell overload and mitigate thermal propagation. These are just a few of the many consideration todays battery system designers and material suppliers such as HB Fuller have to collectively address to bring state of the art batteries and safety to consumers and users alike.

We will introduce how HB Fuller adhesives, sealants, encapsulants, ctgs and TIM’s (Thermal Interface Materials) play such a key role in the mobile and static battery segment.

We will share how materials selection is key to providing a holistic solution to enhance battery system performance and safety

How failure to address one area can have a catastrophic impact leading to system loss and destruction

Finally We will share how our latest product developments can not only deliver high levels of safety but also address demands of VAVE and bring about benefits in manufacturing and performance.
