The drying of electrodes is an essential and limiting process step along the manufacturing chain of Li-ion batteries. Electrode properties and process speed are significantly restricted by heat and mass transfer mechanisms in conventional convective drying. To overcome these problems, we considered IR radiation as a promising approach. We investigate binder migration, lifetime, and the role of binders as a function of distinct slurry drying rates. |
