Lithium-ion batteries are crucial components in various transportation systems, and their safety is of paramount importance. This presentation focuses on the results of destructive crush tests conducted on battery cells to determine the force required to trigger thermal runaway. The critical force identified in this study can help inform the design of battery packs that can prevent thermal runaway and ensure safety in transportation. The presentation will also compare our results to standard test norms, providing valuable insights into the safety evaluation of lithium-ion batteries.
